Susan Perez was born September 6th, 1950 in Bakersfield, California.  The second eldest of 10 children, Susan was forced at a young age to care for her other siblings.  After High School, Susan enlisted in the Army as a nurse and attained the rank of Sergeant before retiring.  After the military Susan met Victor Perez.  The couple soon married and would later attend Bible College together.  After graduating Susan and Victor would pastor in Bakersfield for over 30 years!  Despite her accomplishments, Susan had a huge heart and burden for less fortunate people.   Susan would, over the course of her life, adopt 20 full time  children from the state of California.  She also took in over 100 individuals struggling in their lives, sometimes entire families!  Susan herself had 4 children.Through her life Susan would positively contribute to thousands of lives across the city and state.  Susan was also a philanthropist and made many charitable contributions to a variety of organization, as well as sponsored overseas children for many years. 
After a long battle with illness, Susan Perez passed away April 13th, 2008.  The following year on her 59th birthday, the Susan Perez Community Center was officially launched and dedicated to keeping her loving memory alive by continuing her selfless service to others.
